Organic Nutritional Yeast Powder
What They Are
BIOREAL® Organic Nutritional Yeast Powder is a finely milled, inactive organic yeast (Saccharomyces cerevisiae) that delivers balanced savoury notes, mild nutty flavour, and nutritional enrichment to both food and beverage applications.
Unlike yeast extract (which isolates soluble flavour compounds), yeast powder contains the whole deactivated yeast cell—providing full nutritional value, gentle umami complexity, and functional proteins.
It’s the clean-label alternative for adding body, depth and nutrition to plant-based and organic recipes

How it’s made
Fermentation — Food yeast is cultivated on organic cereal or molasses substrates with oxygen and warmth.
Deactivation — Yeast is gently pasteurised to stop fermentation while preserving nutrients.
Drying & milling — The yeast is dried and finely ground into a uniform powder, ensuring excellent dispersibility and consistent flavour.
The result is a light, beige-coloured powder with a pleasant, natural savoury aroma — produced in a dedicated organic facility in Germany by Agrano, under the BIOREAL® standard.

FAQs
What’s the difference between yeast powder and yeast flakes?
Flakes are larger and crunchy, ideal for toppings and visual appeal. Powder is finely milled for blending into sauces, seasonings, and nutrition mixes.
Can it replace yeast extract?
In some flavour applications yes, but yeast extract gives stronger umami. Powder offers milder savoury depth with added nutritional value.
Is it fortified with vitamins?
No. BIOREAL Yeast Powder is non-fortified; its vitamins and minerals occur naturally through yeast metabolism.
Does it contain gluten or allergens?
No. Produced on certified gluten-free organic substrates; dairy-free, soy-free, and vegan.
How should it appear on ingredient labels?
Declare as “yeast powder” or “organic yeast powder” depending on local regulations.
